Paul
Robinson's headed goal in the final minute
and his two penalty saves gave Leeds an un-belivable
victory over Second Divsion Swindon in the Carlling
Cup.
Leeds were all changes from the side that was beaten
(unjustly) by Birmingham. Chapuis was in for Viduka,
Wilcox for Sakho, Lennon for Pennant and Bridges was
brought back to the bench. Swindon made two changes
dropping Rhys Evans in favour of Bart Griemink and
James Milner on loan from us was prevented from playing
so not to be cup-tied for later rounds.
For the first half an hour or so we looked good with
Chapuis and Lennon impressing. Although as the half
wore on Swindon found holes in our defence and on
44 minutes a debatable free kick was scored by Swindon
defender Andy Guerny. Leeds went in at half time 1-0
down and looking dodgy we needed to improve in the
second half.

Chapuis did well on his debut.
They didn't despite a lot of pressure and Swindon
picking up three bookings in as many minutes including
Bart Griemink's first booking for handling the ball
outside the area. It was in fatc Swindon who stuck
next. On 74 Poor defending let Sam Parkin in to score.
Most inside Elland Road thought it was game over.
But just three minutes later Ian Harte pulled one
back after a Lennon corner had bobbled to him un-marked
at the back post.
Leeds pressed and pressed but couldn't manage to score
until in the last minute Robbo came up for a corner
which he headed in. Needless to say it was his first
ever goal and one he will probably never forget. The
Elland Road crowd went absolutely barmy (including
me) with sheer disbelief. The Swindon fans went silent
and Robbo got almost squashed under the pack of players
which jumped on him in celebration.

Robinson celebrates his goal.
So the game went to extra time. Both sides were un-able
to break the dead lock. So when the referees wistle
blew for full time everybody knew what that ment-Penalty
Shootout. Smith confidentley scored and kissed his
badge. THen Swindon fluked their next paenalty-it
came back of the post and wnet in off Robbo. Then
Harte missed and Sindon fluked their next penalty.
But Leeds Roque Jnr. and Lucas, who came on for the
injured Ian harte in the first half, scored their
spot kicks. Robbinson saved the next two and the Leeds
fans went barmy once more.
Robbo walked the Man of the Match poll on the official
website of course and was definatley my man of the
match but special mention must go to Chapuis, roque
Jnr.(Attacking wise only), Bridges, Domi and Olembe.
